Don't rely heavily

Vocaroo is a free online site which allows you to create audio recordings without having to install software
Support different learning needs, teachers can provide
audio instructions or audio feedback to reinforce written feedback. Students can record stories, revision notes, conversations etc. and submit via email/online forum
What can you do with the code:
- email the link or embed the code into a QR code or a VLE
- download the audio file as an mp3 for iPods/iPhones for on the go listening.

Do use traditional teaching methods as well.
Do use technology appropriately.
Do ensure class rules are set for proper use.
Do trial the activity/tool before you use it in class.
QR codes are very versatile and can be used in many ways to engage students. Here are a few examples:
- student projects - links to websites such as WIKIs/ YouTube/music etc e.g. video practical use of topic taught, for example calculating paint required to paint a room and produce a presentation, upload onto YouTube
- link to your VLE (iLearn) page
- provide additional resources to stretch students' learning both in and outside of the classroom
- student feedback/exit cards e.g. Socrative/Kahoot
- encourage your students to display their class/homework by embedding QR codes in posters

Benefits of IWBs:
A screencast is a digital video recording that captures actions taking place on a computer desktop. Screencasts, which often contain voice-over narration, are useful for demonstrating how to use specific operating systems, software applications or website features.
Socrative/Kahoot are online quiz applications. Your audience can easily join via an app or through web browser. They can use mobile phone, computers, or tablets.
Uses:
- check understanding
- warmer - a quick quiz for students as they enter the classroom
- feedback on the class - 'What did you learn today?'
- Exit tickets
- Gamify the learning experience - Socrative has 'space race'
How can we use is for teaching and learning?
- Can be used like a normal whiteboard for technophobes, but the notes are stored
- Integrate a wide range of materials from different sources e.g. photos, video, sound, Internet, documents
- Easily create interactive quizzes and games to capture learning
- Share with your learners through OneDrive or invite your learners to view the page
- Start Flipped Learning techniques
- Instruct students as well as connect people to learn online
- The teacher records the lesson/information s/he wants to share, saves the file and sends to students
- Students view the recordings in their own time
- Promotes flexible learning and students learn at their own pace
- Students create their own videos for peer teaching or assessment
