Time Capsule

Just like my problems, don't look at it for the next 10 years until it's too late.

Hello you

To me but like 10 years older

I don't know if I'll remember doing this part in 10 years but I'll read it anyway so it doesn't really matter in the end.

In here you'll find out if your plans and ideas you had back in secondary school match to where you are in life today and also what this whole thing is all about pretty much.

Try to have fun and stop cringing so much alright you were 16 when you wrote all this.

Plans

I certainly won't have my dream job in 10 years since it takes so long to study for it but I will have a side job, I just don't know what it'll be.

I think I'll be married by then, and if I am it will be to no other than my now girlfriend.

Her and I, we've got some plans for travels. We both wish to go explore the south of our planet and to got in the far east of Europe together.

Time capsule

The time

capsule

So if you couldn't recall, Christobale asked you to submit a time capsule of your life in secondary school and well this is it. In it, you'll find a career path that you so meticulously planned, a bunch of top 5's about what you liked back then, your highs and lows about high school and what you would say to a soon to be secondary five if you had to talk to them.

Hey! Listen!

Hey!

Listen!

Yes that was a Zelda reference...

Once you're out there in the real world, try to remember what you lived through to get there, I'm not telling you to live in the past, simply to just appreciate the work you had to do to be where you are now.

Also, stop writing your "a" like that, everybody thinks you're writing a 2.

Career Path

So what's the plan doc?

This is basically how I will get the job I want

Step 1

I'll first get the f out of high school and go live in the city with the person dearest to me.

Like Gustav Ahr said in his song Runaway: "Take me away from here, everybody so fake here, everybody so fake I swear".

Step 1

Go to college

I'll study in Cégep Limoilou for 2 years in the science program and try to pass my class so well that I'll get a scholarship of excellence.

Step 2

Get accepted at some well rated University

Step 3

I don't know which school it'll be yet but I want a masters degree in physics so that I can then get a job in quantum physics, that's what my passion is all about.

Get a job

Yep, that's pretty much it, once I'll have done all the years of study (10+), meaning I'll have a masters degree, a PhD and will have done post-PhD studies I'll be able to get a job in what I want. I will probably need to move country so I plan on going to Europe, maybe Germany since there are a lot of observatories there.

5 Year retrospection

Just a reminder of the highs and lows of your passage through high school.

Highlights in 5 years

Secondary 1

Sec. 1

Highs:

I kept most of my friends from primary school and the new teachers were all very nice, especially the man, the legend, Martin Pichette. He made my english improve a lot and it became my favorite subject until secondary 3. I also met with my "twin" and we became best buddies.

Lows: school work became harder and it was hard to find my place amongst all the groups. I tried vaping and found out it was a miserable lifestyle.

Secondary 2

Sec. 2

Highs: we had a lot of projects this year, especially in english where I did a cooking show with one of the best people to ever be alive, my buddy George. There isn't very much to say except secondary 2 was a smooth year. My math teacehr Christian retired and I was glad to be there for his last class.

Lows: I didn't get to go the trip in Orlando with the other but that's fine because I stayed with George the whole time instead and we had a lot of fun.

Secondary 3

Sec. 3

Highs:

Everyone remembers 2020 so I won't need to explain what happened very much but we missed half the school year so that gave us some rest. I had a lot of time to play games online with my middle school bestfriend and that made us reconnect a bit. Right before covid hit, my "twin" had another exchange and he came to quebec so we saw eachother which was very nice. I don't have a very good image of who my teachers were since the year was cut in half but I can say that none of them left a bad impression. I started partying a lot with some older friends but we had to take a break because of covid.

Lows: Lost connections with some of my friends and never saw them again since they changed school (thinking about you Garneau). I didn't leave the house for about 3 months and I stopped socializing a lot after the pandemic.

Secondary 4

Sec. 4

Highs:

We came back to school (but with masks on) and I became friends with a guy in my class named Nataniel (I knew him since kindergarten but we were never that close anyway). We messed around the whole year and I even started working at the same place he did. Early in the year I had a big crush on a girl and after 6 months of talking we ended up together. My maths teacher Seb made me love the subject once again after the experience of secondary 3.

Lows: It's the year I started having mental problems but let's not get into that. The year was pretty much us being half the time doing online school and the other us wearing masks during class and pretty much all the time.

The Last Year

Sec. 5

Highs:

The last year of work has come and it's all going to pay off, I'm getting my diploma and I'll be going to prom accompanied by my girlfriend (we've been together for more than a year now) we got ourselves an appartment in the city. I also started working out seriously that year, that means going to the gym 5 to 7 times a week while having my part time job. Speaking of that I also applied for a new job in Quebec City at the IUSMQ and it's a lot of fun. I finally got help for my mental issues and it's been going somewhat good even though I'm still not ready to accept that I want to be happy.

Lows:

It's about that time in life where I lose alot if not all my friends and start anew. It was also the thoughest year for my mental health and it wasn't always pretty to see. We don't really realise it but we leave a huge part of ourselves when we finish high school and it hurts to somewhat degree.

A letter to the next generation

Letter

for the next generation

Hey you! Yes the one who's about to go in secondary 5, you're in luck because you're about to read something that might prepare you for what's to come in your final year of secondary school. If you wanted to be extra like me, you probably took the chemistry and physics class so let me tell you about them. For chemistry, you don't have to worry too too much, all you have to do is keep putting the work in and don't forget to listen in class it's really important since the teacher will be your main way of understanding the subject. On the contrary, for physics, you shouldn't expect too much help by Aubin's speeches (if he's still the one teaching that class). Focus on doing your exercices so you have a good understanding of the subject and every exam will go smoothly. You know what's coming at the end of that year so my most important advice for that is to prepare in advance and buy yourself a nice suit (or dress let's not assume preferences here). Have a good year, and don't drop the amount of work you put in school, you'll definitely need it.
