Where did the figure skating competition take place:

In training the figure skaters practice the moves

that are hard to do. They need to improve

their the speed, balance and the poise.

Something hard for them might be the triple

axle . This is hard because there is a lot of

force. The faster you go the harder it is

to breathe so the skaters have to be

very fit.

They skills you need are knowing how to balance your legs and arms, knowing how to control your speed and skating in time to the music.

The skaters need to master jumps, spins and spirals. In the mixed paired skating the skaters also perform lifts and moves in time with their partners.

It was held at Gangneung Ice Arena in South Korea.

The equipment needed for this sport:

  • Blades (there are types)
  • Boots
  • Ice skating arena
  • A costume to match the music or routine
