  • After the beetle hatches from its shell, it's known as a larva

  • Continually grow for about 2 weeks

  • Like a buffet!
  • Uses small pieces of grains to make "cocoon-like covering"

  • While inside the "cocoon", it starts to transform

  • Takes about 2 weeks

  • Diet: cereal, flour, pet food, birdseed, chocolate, and nuts

  • Where do they live?

  • Usually live for about 3 - 6 months

  • About 1/8 inch long
  • Adult female can lay up to 200 eggs at once

  • Takes between 3 - 5 days to hatch

  • Eggs laid on small pieces of food or in packaging
