Both Scrooge and the Grinch represent misery and hatred towards the Christmas spirit. They both hate Christmas until the end of the story/movie when they realize Christmas is special.
The Grinch and Scrooge both removed Christmas spirit and happiness out of greed.
Max the dog has to do the Grinch's laundry in the Grinch Who Stole Christmas and so did Chratchit. And both Mr Chartchit & Max are slaves to the antagonists slightly sinister commands. Max was already enslaved by his owner, the Grinch. Chratchit was the Scrooges underpaid worker. Max also had to be the reindeer in the Grinch's burglaries.
