ANATOMY OF A GLOCK 19 SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL
Handgun: A firearm designed to be hand held, in either one or both hands. This characteristic differentiates handguns as a general class of firearms from long guns.
SAFETY
The Glock pistol was designed without an external safety to make drawing and firing the pistol quicker and easier. It does have 3 internal safeties that prevent the gun from firing accidentally. Trigger safety, firing pin safety and drop safety. In short, the Glock pistol simply will not fire unless the trigger is fully depressed.
Rifle: A firearm, especially one fired from shoulder level, having a long spirally grooved barrel intended to make a bullet spin and thereby have greater accuracy over a long distance.
Pistol: A handgun that does not contain its ammunition in a revolving cylinder.
Revolver: A handgun with revolving chambers enabling several shots to be fired without reloading.
DEFINITION:
The Glock pistol, sometimes referred to by the manufacturer as a Glock "Safe Action" pistol and colloquially as a Glock, is a series of polymer-framed, short recoil-operated, magazine fed, locked-breech semi-automatic hand gun.
