- There are some economic issues associated to the costs
- These are imposed on private sectors and the public
- The costs have consequences, which is/ can be influenced by how this law is implemented
- Economists with knowledge of food, agriculture, agribusiness can help analyze these issues

What would you change about the law?
- Primary purpose is to regulate the amount of pesticides
- They can be in any given food or cosmetic product
- Anything consumable is first checked with the sub sector of the FDA
- Every time a product is altered in any way the FDA should inspect it
- They should inspect for pesticides or other harmful substances
How and why was the act started?
- A novel written by Upton Sinclair, entitled The Jungle
- First exposure to the unhealthy practices in the meat industry
- Government saw this as a concern to the public
- So they decided to regulate it
