INDOCHINESE TIGER
Will it make a comeback?
$1.25
Scientific Name: Panthera tigris corbetti
Locations: Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Burma, and Myanmar.
What is threatening it?
Habitat
Shrinking habitats, expanding human populations, the increasing demand for traditional medicines, folk remedies, & wild meat have affected the tigers' population.
The Indochinese tiger can live in tropical and/or subtropical moist broad-leafed forests.
They can also live in forests and hilly terrains.
Is it worth conserving?
Yes, because their habitats benefits other animals like the Asian elephants, bears, deers, and cattle.
Assessment
We would rate the Indochinese Tiger species a 4 because there are approximately 350 tigers left in the world.
Officials could transport all existent tigers to a suitable habitat in the U.S. The habitat would not be a zoo, but more protective for the tigers. It is critical to take action now!
What is being done to help this species?
WWF (world wild life) carries out research to identify tiger habitat, prey, and population numbers. They will work to improve habitat conditions so that tigers and their prey populations will naturally increase.
What else can be done to conserve this species?
Possible solutions to help this species
Reasons to save this species
People in Cambodia can volunteer to patrol the tiger's living regions, to prevent from being hunted.
1. Talking to congress to protect tigers from illegal logging
2. Donate money to organizations that are helping to save this animal.
Maintaining tiger habitats benefits a host of other globally important species like Asian elephants, Asiatic black bears, a suite of wild cattle, and many endemic deer. Endemic means there are growing or existing species in a certain place or region

Evidence: Range
What relies on this species?
The Indochinese tiger's population will decrease dramatically if no action is taken. This is the year to act.
This shows the range of the Indochinese Tiger population, as well as other tigers.
Wild pigs, cattle, antelope, deer, buffalo, turtles, birds, monkeys, and fish are prey to the Indochinese Tiger. Without the tiger, these animals would overpopulate. Then, there would be a shortage of food for those species.
