A rebellion has just broken out

due to harsh rule by the Tyrant Emperor.

Once a kind man who often helped the people,

nearly 20 years ago everything changed.

Taxes were raised, punishments were harsher,

people were forced into laboring on massive

construction projects, executions were common, and the caste system was stricter than ever.

With a game that is constantly changed

by the decisions made or in some cases

by the decisions that aren't made the games

lifespan increases dramatically. With alternate

paths as well as alternate endings and a neat

twist on the in game level generation you can

experience the same game in different ways.

With different maps and occasionally

different kinds of units being sent on

the field the situation you had in your

last play through won't be the same.

It will force you to learn and adapt

your strategy. Through times of

difficulty you can prevail and grow

stronger from it.

With randomly generated levels

and varying AI that interact with each

other in different ways a field of depth

will appear that would not have

otherwise existed. Not a simple good

vs. evil but different ideals vs. different

ideals whether on the darker or the lighter

side. A shade for every character.

Weapons:

  • Axes
  • Spears
  • Swords
  • Knives
  • Polearms
  • Glaives
  • Crossbows
  • Bows
  • Clubs
  • Rifles
  • Pistols
  • Scatterguns

A basic crafting system is going

to be used. Every battle you win

you will find materials that you can

give to your ships craftsmen to fashion

weapons, ammo, and armor. Weapons will

have a durability but they can be repaired

and will cost either materials or coin if you

don't have the materials.

The story has many twists and turns throughout its

adventure while still being able to be followed. An exciting world with both scripted and randomly generated events to help progress the story. Chatter can be heard between enemies that helps give the player a better understanding of the world around them and the enemies they are fighting. The story has a main frame that is then filled by the player and wrapped up.

Wielding a sword, a pistol and a good crew,

Markise is forced on a journey as he is

hunted down for reasons unknown to

him early on in the story. As the story

progresses it becomes increasingly obvious

that something isn't right about these attacks

and Markise eventually discovers the reason

behind them. Throughout the journey he

grows immensely and makes many new friends

along the way.

A likeable if somewhat lazy young man with incredible potential. Confident in his decisions, kind to people, but very indulgent in making sarcastic jokes in the face of danger which causes enemies to become increasingly frustrated with him (sometimes leading to rather funny situations).

The game has great potential

and is easily set for a sequel

while still being satisfying

which gives it the ability to

become an amazing

franchise while still being

inventive.

Stratos Empire:

The Rebellion

Random Generation

Main Character

Death:

The main character is a young man

named Markise Sehen. He is the protagonist

of the story and the unexpected hero.

A relatively new Captain of an Airship

but an incredibly skilled pilot who's profession

involved cargo transport.

Death is permanent and should be avoided at all costs. It can change the story drastically however and can lead to some interesting results if you allow it to happen.

Turn Based Strategy Game

The Setting:

Weapons:

Set in a Victorian Steampunk World riddled with corruption. The breaking point for the lower class as they are mistreated and abused constantly.

A wide variety of weapons including but not limited to; guns, axes, spears, clubs, swords, bibles, claws, crossbows. Each weapon has it's strengths and it's drawbacks and no weapon is strictly better than any other type of weapon.

Side Missions are usually located on randomly generated maps though some can be found in maps from previous chapters. Enemies stats and weapon builds are randomly generated with approximate numbers mostly the same.

Enemy Personality:

Interactivity

This world is full of people who would love nothing more than to see you destroyed but certain enemy types can't help but hate other types of enemies leading to conflict. I.E. Inquisitor v. Cultist

Every generic enemy has a personality in line with what you would expect.

The story's epilogue and difficulty change based on choices made at key points along the way. Characters talk with each other and as the story continues if you spend more time on those characters you learn more about them.

Story:

A well designed story with interesting characters, inventive twists and satisfying dialogue. Going from a childhood flash back to a battle to an escape. The story is driven by a sense of wrong in the world that you can't help but key into.

Inspiration:

  • More inspiration is found in Guns of Icarus Online.
  • The worlds art style is also heavily influenced by Nosgoth, Final Fantasy, and Legend of the Dragoon.

Inspiration for this game was found in

  • The Turn Based Combat of Fire Emblem
  • The RPG style equipment of Dragon Age Origins
  • The Crafting System of many different RPG's (Ex. Dragon Age 2/Skyrim)
  • The Steampunk World was inspired by bands such as Abney Park and Dr. Steel.
  • It was also inspired by the popular film Castle in the Sky from Hayao Miyazaki.
