Plant

My plant lives near water, and has long roots that stretch so that the tips are deep in the water. It eats the constant sun and sucks up the water, and is eaten by chinchillas, large birds, monkeys, rabbits, hedgehogs, crickets and worms.

Rabbit

Snake

My rabbit lives in underground burrows not far from water, but can go out in the heat because the sun has bleached its fur white, which reflects sunlight. It travels to the water daily to drink and eat the plants that line the edge of the water. It is preyed on by large birds and snakes.

My snake has camouflage so as to hide from the large birds, though the birds eyesight makes that very hard. It doesn't need water often (only once every few days), and it feeds on chinchillas, rabbits, monkeys, birds and hedgehogs. It is preyed on by large birds.

Desert

Monkey

Cricket

My monkey lives near water, and in/under the low hanging trees that hang in the water. The hair all over its body will thin considerably, and it keeps cool by staying in the shade of the trees and out of the sun. It eats the leaves (and fruit if it manages to grow) and foliage of the trees and surrounding bushes/plants, and is preyed on by snakes (when dead).

My cricket lives away from the water (to keep away from predators) and travels there by night, while everything is asleep, and eats the foliage on the plants/trees, and occasionally if food is scarce a cricket will eat another cricket. If water is scarce, they will dig deep into the earth to find the sunken water. They are preyed on by birds, monkeys and hedgehogs.

Hedgehog

My hedgehog lives underneath the bushes that surround the water to keep out of the water. Once every few days they come out for water, and they just completely submerge themselves, which cools them down, and the water is stored throughout the body which keeps them hydrated for the next few days, and when the water is finally all used up, they come out again a few days later. It eats some plants roots, bird eggs if it can find some, and whatever crickets and worms crawl through its bush, and is preyed on by snakes.

Bird

Chinchilla

Worm

My large bird has a pouch to store water in, as there is not much water in the desert. It also has strong wings, if the bird needs to make long journeys. Has very thin wings/feathers so as no to overheat. It has very keen eyesight so it can see things far below it on the ground. It eats plants, rabbits, snakes, worms, crickets and chinchillas, and is preyed on by snakes.

My chinchilla lives near the water, and lives underground to keep out of the heat and the sun. It eats the plants that also live near the water, and is preyed on by large birds and snakes.

My worm lives in the sand of the desert near the water (because the sand near the water is much cooler than the other sand in the desert). It eats the roots of the plants by the water, and is preyed on by large birds, monkeys and hedgehogs.
