- Moore lived with her parents at 32 Monroe Street in Manhattan, after immigrating to the U.S.
- Little is known about Moore's job except that she worked in a factory for three years before quitting to take care of her children
- Moore lived a happy life, marrying Joseph Augustus Schayer, an employee at Manhattan's Fulton Fish Market, and with whom she had 11 kids

- The conditions were harsh, especially since Moore was a steerage passenger. The room they were in for 12 long days (December 21, 1891 - January 1, 1892) was dark and airless, with people constantly getting seasick
