Shintoism Gods
Amaterasu and her husband Tsukiyomi got a divorce due to Tsukiyomi killing the food deity at a banquet by cutting her in half. The reason for him doing this is because she threw up the food which disgusted him. However if Amaterasu didn't have a prior engagement she would've gone to it instead of sending him. This divorce is why the sun and moon appear at different times.
