Beginning in the eighth century B.C., Ancient Rome grew from a small town on central Italy’s Tiber River into an empire that at its peak encompassed most of continental Europe, Britain, much of western Asia, northern Africa and the Mediterranean islands. After 450 years as a republic, Rome became an empire in the wake of Julius Caesar’s rise and fall in the first century B.C. The long and triumphant reign of its first emperor, Augustus, began a golden age of peace and prosperity; by contrast, the empire’s decline and fall by the fifth century A.D. was one of the most dramatic implosions in the history of human civilization. As said on the history page on www.ancientgreece.com, "The history of Greece can be traced back to Stone Age hunters. Later came early farmers and the civilizations of the Minoan and Mycenaean kings. This was followed by a period of wars and invasions, known as the Dark Ages. In about 1100 BC, a people called the Dorians invaded from the north and spread down the west coast. In the period from 500-336 BC Greece was divided into small city states, each of which consisted of a city and its surrounding countryside."

The biggest difference was this: Greeks noticed the acts of mortals and praised them while Romans just wanted to die and be done with living. (Actually, this is an exaggeration. Romans praised the gods and then died.)
We all know where a bar of Dove comes from. Right? Greece and Rome have had a lot of influence on the modern world today. From Ajax dishwashing soap from songs on Pandora, you can almost always spot something Graeco-Roman in the mix.
Greece and Rome: two different civillizations,
two different empires, two different stories.
Even though they are different, they are same,
but different, and same. If you dig deep enough,
you will find two powerful legacies with hundreds
of secrets
meant to be shared.
