Indian weddings usually last for more than a couple of days and are a very big tradition in India to get married. It shows wealth love and an alliance between the family's. 95% of the marriages are chosen by the parents. The night before the wedding The bride gets tattooed with henna. The longer the henna dies the skin and shows up the colour after it washes away the more affection to her soon to be mother in-law. On the evening of the wedding the groom rides down the streets on a white horse wearing a white veil to shield the evil spirits away. When both the bride and the groom arrive the bride performs a ceromny with 2 cups of water to represent souls not separating. then they pour puffed rice into each others hands to represent their love. The bride and groom walk around the sacred fire seven times keeping in mind the four aspirations in life: Dharma (duty to each other, family and God), Artha (prosperity), Karma (energy and passion) and Moksha (salvation). After the ceremony has finished they dance and sing untill the sun shines
