Mise en Scene

Cinematography

All The places shown in the film are dirty, even on the outside the streets are surrounded by old warehouses. One of the houses used in the film have a lot of shades of red, a colour which connotes danger and blood. The props they used in the film were masks, torture objects and a child tricycle. The costumes used in the film convey the audience which character are the victim and which character are the Antagonist. The Antagonist wears a long black coat and a red and white mask on the other hand the victims wear blue and white which gives the feeling of sympathy.

They used a lot of mid shots in the film in order to show the audience the character’s facial expression and their movements mainly on the Action scenes. Long Shots also has been used in order to show various settings in the film. Close ups are used as well as to show the character’s facial expression in the moments of fear.

Lighting

They used quick cuts and fast paced cut in some action scenes, for example when the antagonist is being chased they speed up the use of quick cuts along with the music in order to increase the tension and the suspense.

In some scene Such as the main location and inside the dirty bathroom they used a bright lighting. In other scenes they used red light to convey the audience that this places is dangerous. Also they used Dim lighting to Focus on the character to convey the audience what they’re doing.

Sound

The audience mostly hear silence and heavy breathing sounds throughout the film, with no background sounds. The used a husky creepy voice to be set as the antagonist’s voice. In action Scenes they used heavy metal music as this type of music add up to the suspense in the film.
