The Plowman is a good christian man. He is a diligent worker on his farm giving as much as he can to the poor. The plowman wore a tabard smock and rode a mare ( a loose jacket and a female horse ). The plowman is headed to Canterbury to help the poor, farm new land, and to spread the love for christ. The Plowman lives in peace, paying all his tithes in offering on time and every time.
