The Age of Reason\ Enlightenment contributed to the development of the West in a few different ways. It was a intellectual and cultural movement that aided the development through science and philosophy, The Age of Reason was a time of new ideas and discovers that helped to develop the West into what it is today.

The Middle Ages largley contributed to the development of the west, in education and religion. During the Middle ages the first Universities opened which helped the growth of Education and changed the West forever. Religion was a huge part of the culture of the Middle Ages. The Catholic church basically ran society and this had a lasting effect and aided the development of West.

The Greco-Roman time period was very important in the development of the west becuase it helped to establish the importance of politics in the Western world today. Religion in ancient Rome changed the world forever, the birth of christianity largley contributed to the development of the West. During Greco-Roman times different cultures were brought into Europe and adapted, making changes to the society that are still important today.
