Women usually continued child birth until they produced a male for the family.
Medieval women had little place in their society. They lived in a world dominated my men so they were often put aside.
Even torture methods were used on women who were accused of gossip or witchcraft. These were devises used to keep their mouths shut and were often publicly humiliated.
In the normal classes, A women's main job was to care for her husband
The law for women (set by men) was
1: You are not allowed to marry without your parents' consent
2: You can own no business with special permission
3: You are not allowed to divorce your husbands
4: You can not own property of any kind unless your a widow
5: You can not inherit land from their parents' if you had any surviving brothers
Women were allowed to have jobs but men were paid almost twice as much for the same job.
Women with rich backgrounds were usually married in their teens. Women in poor families didn't marrry untill their twenties so they could work more.
Because of the time, child birth often resulted in death.
