Bart's final and most impressive solution is the 'Pill'. It is as simple as taking the tablet and being bitten by a mosquito. The amazing part of the resolution is that three hours later, the mosquito will die.
I believe that 'Pill' will play the biggest part in the fight against Malaria. Anyone can afford it, it is super efficient and it will quickly rid the world of the disease.
Through his research, Bart discovered that the easiest way to rid the world of mosquitoes would be to kill the insects while they are larvae. This task would have proven impossible if not for 'man's best friend.' With the correct training, dogs would be capable of smelling larvae and the people who carry Malaria parasites.
I think that this idea is ingenious as it would greatly decrease the number of mosquitoes in African communities in a matter of months. This fast and efficient resolution would prevent many cases of Malaria.
After many experiments, Bart discovered that in African communities, mosquitoes are more attracted to the feet than any other part of the body. And what smells like feet? You got it: cheese. Studies have proven that mosquitoes are two to three times more likely to be drawn to cheese as opposed to humans.
I believe that cheese will be an extremely
successful part of the fight against Malaria as it is a cheap and simple way to save many lives.
Bart Knols is one of the many people who, quite frankly, hate mosquitoes. Not only are they one of the most annoying insects on the planet, they are also the cause of one of the world’s most fatal diseases: Malaria.
Half the population is at risk of attracting a disease like Malaria. The virus is so bad that every thirty seconds, a child dies of the disease.
Bart has some very interesting theories in how to stop this killer disease...
