  • Khun Sa was the leader of the Shan United Army before he fled to the border regions from Burma to Yunnan.
  • Died October 26, 2007
  • Born February 17, 1934
  • After fleeing, Khun Sa formed his own army consisting of a few hundred men.
  • In 1963, Khun Sa reformed into a Kan Kwe Ye local Militia becoming loyal to Gen Ne Win's Burmese Government.
  • Also known as Chang Chi- Fu
  • Khun Sa means Prince Prosperous
  • Khun Sa, however stopped cooperating with the Burmese government and expanded his own personal army to 800 men.
  • Khun Sa controlled 75% of the the drug trade in Myanmar.
