Honesty means being truthful, sincere and straightforward. Being honest doesn't mean lying, being insincere and being untruthful. In the book the author said that Bruno tries to be honest to himself as much as possible. This reminds me of when I lied to a friend and told him that I was going to meet him somewhere.
Naive means, showing lack of experience, wisdom or judgement. Naive doesn't mean being experienced. In the book Bruno doesn't have a clue what his father does for a living. This reminded me of my younger self, when I was asked a, what would you do, type of question.
Being respectful means feeling or showing deference and respect. Being respectful doesn't mean being impolite or disrespectful. In the book Bruno demonstrates this character trait when his mother was talking to him, Bruno knows that to never talk over someone when they're talking. This reminds of the time when I thought to always respect my elders.
Friendly means being kind and pleasant to someone or something. Friendly doesn't mean being bad or not being good in any manner or degree. In the book, Bruno was being friendly to Shmuel when he met him. This reminds me of a stranger I saw, giving food and money to a homeless man.
Adventurous means that you are willing to take risks or to try out new methods, ideas, or experiences. Adventurous doesn't mean, not offering, involving, or eager for new or stimulating things. In the book Bruno was being adventurous when the author said "Bruno jumped off his bed and rummaged in his wardrobe for an overcoat and an old pair of boots - the kind of clothes he thought a real explorer might wear - and prepared to leave the house". This reminds me of the explorer Christopher Columbus when he sailed all around the world.
Being thoughtful means, showing consideration and anticipation of needs. Being thoughtful doesn't mean being careless or reckless. In the book when Bruno and his family left Berlin, Bruno was wondering why Bruno's grandparents were left behind and not brought with them. This reminds me of when I left the Philippines and other family members.
