Is Christopher's viewpoint of the world accurate
Evidence
ONE
"Prime numbers are what is left when you have taken all the patterns away. I think prime numbers are like life. They are very logical but you could never work out the rules, even if you spent all your time thinking about them. "(19.7)
Well, Christopher might think that prime numbers are like life, but I think they're like Christopher: unique, indivisible, a little unpredictable, and very mysterious.
WHAT I THINK OF THE EVIDENCE
EVIDENCE
This is a pretty moving speech from Christopher's father. I feel for him – I really do.I'm definitely with him about it being "bloody hard" to tell the truth all the time. Even Christopher had to find ways around telling the whole truth. Really, telling the whole truth all the time might be "impossible." But then how can he turn around and promise Christopher that he'll always tell the truth from then on? What evidence does he have that it's somehow going to get easier in the future?
"OK, maybe I don't tell the truth all the time. God knows, I try, Christopher, God knows I do, but... Life is difficult, you know. It's bloody hard telling the truth all the time. Sometimes it's impossible. And I want to know that I'm trying, I really am. And perhaps this is not a very good time to say this, and I know you're not going to like it, but... You have to know that I am going to tell you the truth from now on. About everything. Because... if you don't tell the truth now, then later on... later on it hurts even more. So..." (167.16)
"People say that you always have to tell the truth. But they do not mean this because you are not allowed to tell old people that they are old and you are not allowed to tell people if they smell funny or if a grown-up has made a fart. And you are not allowed to say, "I don't like you," unless that person has been horrible to you." (73.2)
Christopher has a point: we're all taught to tell the truth. But then we're also taught to not say things that hurt people's feelings. This is the aspect that escapes Christopher – that sometimes telling the truth just isn't very nice.
Evidence two
And eventually there is no one left in the world except people who don't look at other people's faces and who don't know what these pictures mean. (229.5)
This is probably our first indication that Christopher feels some sense of kinship with other people who have social disorders, and some resentment about being different. In the world he describes, no one would have identities at all, outside of what they think of themselves.
I think that Christopher's viewpoint of the world is accurate because everyone has their on opinion about life and people.Christopher sees the world through the eyes of logic and reason just like most people. He sees things that most overlook and expresses his thoughts through means of images, diagrams, and charts. His systematic way of thinking, though unconventional, allows his audience to step into his shoes and think in the manner of a teenager with Autism. “By spending a little time with Christopher, we come to understand ourselves, and others, better.
- Christopher John Boone is a very peculiar teenager.
-He is an intellectual individual who excels greatly in Math and Science.
-Currently lives in England with a single parent, his father.
-Currently attends a school for kids with learning disabilities, or special needs. (pg. 43)
-Christopher believes that he is smarter, or more logical than any other student in the school.
-Christopher’s parents are also separated which was caused from an affair Mrs. Boone was into with Mr Shears.
-The separation was not discovered by Christopher until he found a lot of letters written to him from his mother.
-Christopher's parents fought often because of the stress of taking care of someone with behavioral problems. “I used to think that Mother and Father might get divorced. That was because they had lots of arguments and sometimes they hated each other. This was because of the stress of looking after someone who had Behavioral Problems like I have.” (page 45-46)
-From all the information we have been given in the book, we can infer that Christopher has paler skin with a blonde lighter shade of hair, and blue eyes.
-In his denim overalls, you would find several items such as. A Swiss Army knife with 13 attachments including a wire stripper and and a toothpick and tweezers.
-We can also infer that Christopher wears glasses since he mentioned that he does not have 20/20 vision “Also I didn't have 20/20 vision, which is what you needed to become a pilot” (page 25)
He found out that his dad killed wellington because he was mad at Mrs shears.
EVENT 2
This made Christopher think that his dad is murder and he should definitely be arrested.
EVENT 3
He discovered that his dad been lying to him the whole time about his mother being dead of a heart attack.
This cause Christopher to loose his trust toward his dad.
Christopher interactions with other characters
Many of the characters in the novel become irritated with Christopher at one time or another because of the difficulty they have communicating with him. Christopher has trouble understanding metaphors, such as the dog was stone dead. He also has difficulty with nonverbal forms of communication, such as body language, facial expressions, and even the tone of someone’s voice. He tends to take statements literally and requires very specific instructions in order to follow a command.
He says, for example, that when people say “Be quiet” they don’t specify how long he should be quiet for. As a result, we often see characters struggling to make Christopher understand them since their ordinary way of speaking fails to communicate their meaning to him. These exchanges underscore how Christopher’s condition affects his social skills, and they emphasize for the reader the difference in perspective that Christopher experiences compared to the average person.
-Christopher is an introvert. He does not enjoy any type of social interaction, or physical contact between anyone for that matter.
"I find people confusing" (page 14-15)...
-Christopher is also a very literal and direct person when it comes to life and its meanings, such as religion. Since he cannot physically see God, he cannot believe that there is one
-Also Christopher cannot tell lies, “I do not tell lies. Mother says this was because I was a good person. But it is not because I am a good person. It its because I can't tell lies.” (page 19)
-Christopher is also very picky when it comes to everything. Christopher really dislikes the color brown and yellow, and anything possessing these color's, he refuses to touch.
-Christopher is a funny character, and brought some humor to the story through his words, actions and theories on certain subjects
THANK YOU
END
DYNAMIC
Christopher is very obedient in the beginning of the novel. He does not know anything outside listening to what his father tells him to do.He obeys his own method of logic to determine how his day will go (red cars/yellow cars).By the end of the novel,Christopher has endured so much craziness that he has been almost completely transformed. He embarked on adventures alone and survived all by himself. With his new found self-pride and independence,he is clearly more confident at the end of the novel. "I went to London on my own, and because I solved the mystery of who killed wellington?and I found my mother and I was brave and I wrote a book and that means I can do anything." pg221
First person narrator affect
Important Events That effected Christopher's development. (EVENT 1)
The death of wellington.(pg 1)
This bought out the emotional part of Christopher that we barely see again while reading the book.(page 2) This also cause him to look for the person who killed Willingston.
Static characters
Two static characters in the story are Mrs Alexander and Siobhan. Both women are nice and caring. They support Christopher in whatever he wants to do,and they never stop so.thtoughout the entire novel they are both there for him with no questions asked. They are both true static characters in a good way.
The fact that the book is written in the first person (meaning that you see everything through Christopher's eyes). It makes the book more realistic and more understandable. I felt like I had learned something after reading the book. I won't judge people with Asperger's Syndrome the same way I used to do because now I understand them more.
Christopher's father is also a dynamic character because he begins as a caring, responsible man.I saw him as Christopher's lifeline who he can always depend on, no matter what happens.thoughout the story as the lies unwind father became an entirely different person. He reveals his terrible temper as well as how his vicious ways have gotten him into sticky situations that there are no ways out of.

-Christopher have a really big impact in the story because he brings more interest and some conflict to the novel. The decisions of a first person narrator in the book shape the overall message about the difficulties of living in a world of autism, both from the point of view of Christopher and those around him. From this we see how he deals with the situation and how he overcomes his fears.
