3 Divisions of the Tripitaka

Thanks for

listening =)

Did you know...?

The Tripitaka can also be

referred to as the "Pali Canon"

because of the fact that

it is written in Pali

Buddhist Scriptures

& Sacred Texts

By: Maryam, Laura,

Michelle & Joanna

Well that is all for today,

so we hope you gained

useful knowledge !!!

(for the test)

Many Buddhists consider the

Tripitaka to be the most accurate

record of the Buddha’s teachings

‘Tri’ meaning “three” and

‘pitaka’ meaning “basket”

It is written on palm leaves in the

Pali language (that is why the

Tripitaka is also known as the

“Pali Canon”)

Was handed down orally, then

written down in the 3rd century B.C.
