Crispus Attucks Day was inaugurated by a group of African, Boston abolitionists to honor Attucks's death.
Since Attucks was born into slavery, he works as a slave under William Brown.
Attucks runs away from Brown's "services" in 1750. He found a job as a sailor on trading and whaling vessels and later became a rope maker. He kept these jobs until 1770.
Paul Revere published his famous engraving of the Boston Massacre.
In one of Martin Luther King Jr.'s famous speeches, "Why we can't Wait," he described Attucks as an example of "a contribution to history that provided a potent message of moral courage."
