Saying Hello

Central Focus Question

  • Men shake hands, and when close can hug to greet each other.
  • In Ireland the way that they say hello is “Dia dhuit”.
  • The Shannon river is the longest river in Ireland.
  • Irish people are not phsyical people--they do not like to touch or hug people most the time.
  • Ireland is called Eire in Irish and it is known as the Republic of Ireland.
  • At the olympics, for Ireland boxing is the most common successful sport.
  • The major rivers in Ireland are Shannon, Liffey, Boyne, Moy, and Barrow.

We are a group of third grade students from New York.Our central focus question for this project was: How does the Irish culture use body language to communicate? We also included fun facts about our culture in our Prezi. Our Prezi will give you information about the culture and people of Ireland. We hope you enjoy our Prezi!

Saying Goodbye

  • In Ireland, they say “slan” to say goodbye.
