There is no known founder of the Shinto religion, but it began in Japan. The religion has existed for between 1000 and 5000 years. It is now dominantly practiced in Japan, and has approximately 2.7 million followers today.

Shintos are polytheistic and they believe in multiple gods. One major god is Kami, a divine deity. Kami in English means god. It is said that humans and Kami exist together in the same world. Kannagra means "the way of the Kami."

The Tao religion was founded by Laozi, an ancient man who had a spiritual awakening and began to teach his values in ancient China. It is one of the oldest belief systems in China. It is a polytheistic religion that worships many deities. Taoism is now dominantly practiced in China.
