The Dataaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Usefulness and Biases
- this study was done at their own zoo, and not at others
- other zoos located elsewhere might have different considered"popular" animal species exhibited deemed by guests

Essentially....
- animals that are in zoos for educational purposes should be chosen carefully based on their popularity among the visitors
Findings
- mammals the most viewed
- amphibians and fish came in second
- last place were birds
Research Methods
- popular attractions guests viewed at and stayed the longest were mammals, species larger in size, and with a higher activity level
- physically observing guests at different exhibits and measured the time in seconds for how long they watched the animals
- while also recorded which animals were watched
- believe that if a significant number of guests appear to find some species more appealing than others, then it is possible to agree that the highly favoured species are more educationally valuable
Summary
- study published in 2010
- both involved in North of England Zoological Society at the Chester Zoo in the UK
Thesis
- how the learning effectiveness for visitors is correlational to the attention that a given species receives and the interest that the visitors expresses in them
Perhaps some species will result in being more popularly viewed than others?
