Symbiotic Relationship

Unfortunately, there are no symbiotic relationships that seahorses have.

But here some cool facts:

  • The males carry the baby seahorses until they are old enough to swim on their own.
  • Seahorses change color when stressed
  • Seahorses don't have scales they just have scales

  • Some problems facing the oceans of Australia are rising sea levels and fertilizer run off making its way into the ocean and harming the ocean life.
  • They spend most of their time in or on reefs, macroalgae, and seagrass.

Status of the Seahorse

General characteristics

  • The status of the Narrow Bellied Seahorse is not really known, it's currently considered data deficient.
  • But they are reefs where they block off people from going to preserve the seagrass.

  • Size: Range from 9 cm to about 22 cm in length
  • Diet: They mostly suck small crustaceans and planktonic organisms into its mouth.
  • Lifespan: The lifespan is unknown due to very little research.
  • Distinctive characteristics: They are often brownish grey with combinations of yellow, white, and brown with 5-6 strips across the snout. Females are thinner.
