Loyalty of The Odyssey

Odysseus' crew was loyal to him through out his journey, up until the point where they were killed. The only time they weren't loyal to him was when they opened the bag of winds without his permission.

While Odysseus was away on his journey for twenty years, his wife penelope was loyal to him the whole time. "No other man has ever laid eyes on it, only my own slave, Actoris, that my father sent with me as a gift-She kept our door. You make my stiff heart know that I am yours." Penelope prolonged showing love to other men for years hoping one day her husband would come home.

After telling his story to the Phaeacians, they decided to let him go and gave a ship to show their loyalty. From the actions of the Phaeacians, Odysseus got back to Ithaca. Poseidon became angry and turned the Phaeacians into stone for helping him.

Odysseus was never loyal to Poseidon. Odysseus thought he himself was the reason for the victories. Poseidon just wants him to suffer and realize who is in charge between the two.

Over all, Odysseus was not very loyal over his entire journey. He lied to his wife. Penelope provides a better example of a good person.
