Creation of Laws
- Laws were created by Parliament
- The Monarch had to authorize the laws in order for them to go into effect
- Laws could also be ammended by Parliament
- The monarch had the power to veto a bill or law from Parliament
- Parliament also could deny a bill made by the Monarch
Law Enforcement
- The law was enforced by a Constable for each town
- Ale-conners ensured that laws concerning quality of Ale were observed
- Churchwardens were responsible for the church's laws
- These laws were the highest legal authority in the land
Elections
- These local Constable's or Sheriff's were also responsible for elections
- Although there were elections they were only to vote for members of Parliament
- Monarchs were not elected but were chosen according to their bloodline
