Machismo culture includes the set of behaviors and rules of conduct that are inculcated into boys by our society as being strong, tough and independent, showing no emotion The idea of machismo only supports this through a cultural perspective. The Chicano male who is acts like a macho in the wrong ways is preventing from growing as a whole in todays society.

- Machismo is seen as an exlusive Mexican value, encouraged by parental anxiety for the males in the family to show manliness, having strength, honor, and courage.

- An example of that would be a man who refuses to take days off from work because he needs to pay bills, put food on the table for his family, and for his family’s well being.
