Historical Knowledge and Understanding
The history of a significant person, building, site or part of the natural environment in the local community and what it reveals about the past (ACHHK044)
The importance today of an historical site of cultural or spiritual significance; for example, a community building, a landmark, a war memorial (ACHHK045)
The impact of changing technology on people’s lives (at home and in the ways they worked, travelled, communicated, and played in the past) (ACHHK046)
- We will be using the St Brigid's College buses
- A time slot has been booked via the communications book with the Grounds men to drive to and from the College
Cost: $6.60
- This cost is covered by the College fee by parents at the commencement of each academic year
- Cost for parents - $10 each which is usually covered by the College
- The buses are owned by the school so there is no cost for travel

Kalamunda History Village is a stimulating hands on experience that provides many wonderful and engaging programs for all primary years. It is a place that has preserved the history of the early settlers of Kalamunda and shows children what life was like in the past in their local community.
- Students will be dressed in their green and gold college sports uniform (shorts and shirt with bucket hat)
- Students will need to arrive at school by the first school bell (8.40AM). We will be leaving at 9.50AM and arriving back at school at 2.10PM
-Parents will be advised to put their child's lunch and recess in
separate bags with their child's name clearly labeled. Drink bottles also need to be clearly labeled

We will be completing the program Pioneer Life. Students will be divided into smaller groups and will have a guide who will give the students an inside to early hills life. Students will move around the Village to six stations.

PRE ACTIVITIES
• - Students will write a letter to a relative about how their day is at school. Students are to pose questions to their relatives about what their school days were like. (These letters will be sent at the Post Office at the Kalamunda History Village). (ACHHK044) (ACHHS048) (ACHHS052) (ACHHS054)
- At the beginning of each lesson, look at the profile and photographs of different early settlers of Kalamunda and what their role was in society. The profiles will be added to a display in the classroom. (ACHHK044) (ACHHK046) (ACHHS049) (ACHHS050) (ACHHS052) (ACHHS054)
