AIDET Walkthrough

Why is this important?

St. Joseph Regional Health Center- CCU

AIDET decreases patient anxiety and increases

patient compliance which results in improved

clinical outcomes and increased patient and

physician satisfaction. Increased clinical outcomes

also cut down on the number of patients

readmitted within 30 days.

Implementation of AIDET also reduces the

number of complaints, which reduces the

number of claims, which decreases spending.

How to use AIDET with your patients

**Please take the 10 question SurveyMonkey assessment and sign your name on the sheet**

A- Acknowledge: This is simply acknowledging the patient and/or

their family by name. This lets the patient/family know that you

care about them.

I-Introduce: Letting the patient and family know who you are. This

involves you verbally introducing yourself and explaining who you

are and what you do, as well as writing your name on the whiteboard

in the patient room.
