On my own
Example of How Badly We Need The Informational Sites:
- In recent studies, around 20% of adults, ages 18-24, voted in the last election
- This percent is the product of a rapid decline of young aged adults voting
- This decreases the amount of opinions and ideas supported
- Meaning, the people voted into offices today do not necessarily coincide with the general population's beliefs
Political advisory app & Website
- Bus comes to college campuses, with city staff and information
- Students can go to rooms (like Sabbatini) and watch videos and learn information before they vote
- Vote on the bus
- Announced way ahead of time
- Download app beforehand to educate yourself, so you can skip informational room and go straight to voting
What Would This Look Like?

- App:
Main idea
Memphis Area Specifically
- Create a system and accompanying website to bring the voting booths to college campuses
- Ipads (with accompanying apps) will be available to help with the voting and also have unbiased information (such as BrainPop) about each candidate
- Students can go through and learn which candidate they should vote for
- App on the phone would enable students to vote, have a separate line to scan and show registration for quick voting lines
- 4 or 5 undergraduate colleges
- Would be available for early voting
- Presidential election (for right now)
- If this works, it would be good for local elections
Other Methods That Have Been Tried:
- Rock the Vote
- Campus Vote Project
- News Outlets (CNN, FoxNews, CNBC, Radio Stations, NYT, HuffingtonPost)
- ISideWith.com
Our App takes the next step:
- Unbiased Info and Links
- Bringing voting to campuses, easier access
- Quick videos
- Centrally located
- Mobile accessibility
