Experiment
A:What we have learned from the system.
B:Our future suggestions for the system.
Our journey:
- On the clinical side this system help different department from doing already done tests (duplication) and reduce hazard exposure to the patient. The system also helps the healthcare providers entering drugs and doses in easier and safer way than the past. Finally, the system reduces error include drug drug interaction and wrong dose.
- On the education settings, the system benefits students to track cases of interest and easy retrieval of tests and pictures.
- On the aspect of the research, the system help in easy and perfect collection of information and easy performing retrospective and prospective studies.
The Clinical, Educational and Research application of the system and its benefits:
eSiHi Course traning.
The Clinical workflow of the system
Using eSiHi initially from the time it was implemented was time consuming. However, after the staff had received enough training the usage of the system became time efficient and easier to use.
There are many functions of eSiHi and here are some:
1- Checking for appointments.
2- Viewing patient’ statues and those who came across the patients from healthcare providers.
5- The healthcare provider can see a summary of a patient’s data. This summary is made by the system.
6- Assessing discharge readiness through blue-filled circles, and the system gives warnings if there are any missing documents such as diagnosis, medication or history etc.
The Clinical workflow of the system, its functions, development and maintenance.
3- Writing and viewing the patient’s notes.
4- Sending orders to other departments, such as lab tests, by the healthcare provider.
The system is developed by Cerner company and maintained by its employees from the IT department, and some circumstance and for the sake of development it can be accessed by some developers from distance. It was estimated that the system should be implemented after one year of duration, but due to some obstacles, it took three years to execute the system.
Development and maintenance.
The users of eSiHi, their limited access and their training.
3- eSIHI system was established mainly to improve the quality of healthcare and patients' safety.
4- It makes communication easier and faster than ever.
1- Using eSiHi is really important to healthcare, and it is a helpful tool to improve health quality.
2- The system makes the duty of the physicians easier, safer and efficient.
5- A good communication make good results.
6- It reduces error in medical field and improve population health.
7- Using eSiHi is more time efficient after having an adequate training and therefore improving the population health.
