Perception

designing specialist

for users which are visually impaired you need to add

the pop out effect which would advanced the appearance.

for users which are both visually impaired and have hearing problems can use haptic technology which is a pointer you control to select the desired options. this can also be used by people who have limbs missing and head up displays/ remote controlled devices used to recieve input and output from the interface.

Colour- the colour should be interesting and eye catching so the reader doesn't get bored reading it E.G. grey is a dull colour and might put off the reader. Also you should make the colour easy to read so that the users can read it without problems.

Pattern- you should use the same layout so the reader feels comfortable going on to the next thing rather than having one chunk of text a bigger size and different colour to another chunk of text.

Objects- you should put the object/s close to a place the people can easily see not in a far corner and being nearly impossible to see.

Fundamental principles of HCI's

Behaviour Models

information processing

Predictive Models:

KLM: this recognises low level actions such as pressing a key of

the keyboard or clicking the mouse. each action has a time to

respond to the system.

TP: this relates to productivity of the computer like the time it

takes for the computer to process a command. the speed it takes to

complete this process is called reponse time.

Fitts law: this is a system made for predicting human movement

and motion based on a time and distance

Descriptive Models:

KAM: this evaluates the users expectancy to behave/react and how the computer

reacts to the commands.

Buxton's three model state: this is to do with pressure and dexterity of the user to

make movements using trackpads ETC.

humans as a component: a key variable to HCI is human

end user. this is a risk assesment which can make the user

do option X before option Y then the you find out what happens

HIP- this is the way humans absorb, analyse, use information we

obtain. our brains get the info then we use the mind in order to

process.

GOMS: these models can predict the time it takes to do an action

and how long it takes the command to process. the goal is identified

then a series of operators and list of method in order to complete

this action.
