- coniferous and deciduous trees and buffalo berry,blue berry and willows cotton grass
- some landforms here are low flat lands,meadows and hilly areas
Grassland
- some natural resources are oil,sand and farming
- elk,bison,moose and bears live here
- long winters and short cooler summers than most regions in Alberta

- trees live around river valleys ,lakes and coulees other plants like grasses,lichens and shrubs can survive on open plains
- lakes,rivers,creeks,flat plains,rolling plains and valleys are some landforms here
- farming oil and gas are some natural resources
- burring owls,swift fox and the peregrine falcon
- it is the hottest driest and windiest region in Alberta
- this region is known for gently rolling hills
Foothills
- Foothills are located near the rocky mountains in South West Alberta
- there is Coniferous and deciduous trees like aspen,birch,willow and poplar.

- there are large lush forests,creeks and a variety of wetlands where drainage is poor
- oil gas and coal are found here
- Located in the North East corner of Alberta
Rocky Mountains
- moose,black bears and coyotes live here
- located in South East Alberta
- It is cooler and more moist than plains
- Some plant's that live here are jack pine,marsh reed grass,black spruce and bear berry
- has a mix of dry grasses and moist aspen forests
- the foot hill region is split into upper and lower foothills
- the gentle rolling hills have plains,hills,rivers,aspen woodlands,fescue grasslands,shrub lands and wetlands.
- Lakes,marshy depressions and Precambrain rocks.
- the main natural resources are oil and farming
- Some resources in this region are trees and Minerals
- located in the South West edge of Alberta
- barren ground caribou,arctic fox and golden eagle's
- less trees more lichens,moss and tiny plants
- some wildlife is elk,moose,deer,pheasants,coyotes,rabbits,beavers and in summer canadian geese
- 200-300mm of rain in summer and
1250-1500mm of snow in winter
- some land forms are mountains,glaciers,valley's,rivers,waterfalls and hot springs
- it is cooler and more moist than the grasslands
- there are many sports in this region
- the main natural resources is coal here
- sometimes called transitional zone
- elk,black bears,coyotes and foxes
- this region has the most snow fall and coldest temperatures
- this region is also known for tourism
