The French Revolution
The French Revolution began in 1789. Through world history, it was a significant event because of the political upheaval that initiated through the whole of Europe. There were a number of significant events of the French Revolution. King Louis XVI had manipulated his kingdom to ensure that he had strengthened the absolute power of the monarchy and basically removed any remnants of the old feudal system. A direct cause of the French Revolution was the economic crisis that faced the French government. The nobility and the clergy lived lives of luxury while the peasant farmers were forced to pay them heavy taxes and feudal dues.
During 1789 the French revolution began and in 1790 it ended. The French revolution had French citizens redesign their countries political landscape, this makeover brought the monarchy and the feudal system. During the 18th century, France’s relationship with the American Revolution and the extravagant spending by King Louis XVI, his predecessor left the country of France on the brink of bankruptcy. For two decades there were a lot of troubles with harvesting such as poor cereal harvests, drought, Cattle disease and bread prices skyrocketing. During 1614 France’s population changed considerably.

It marked the democratic of France. The French revolution played an important role of shaping modern nations by showing the world the power to inherent in the will of the people.
The reign of terror was the 5th most important because Marie Antoinette had been imprisoned with her children and she got moved away from her husband King Louis XVI. This was a very significant event as 30,000 people lost their lives in France.

The storming of the Bastille
On the 14th July 1789, a prison located in the east of Paris, which is most commonly known as the Bastille prison was attacked by an aggressive mob. The prison was made up of 8 30-meter walls, which dominated the skyline of Paris. Fortunately there were only 7 prisoners in the prison when it was attacked but the mob was not focused on the prisoners. They were more concerned about the huge ammunition stores which were held inside of the prison walls. The governor of the prison refused to obey which caused the mob to charge at the prison and eventually took over the prison. The governor was unfortunately detained and killed, with his head carried on a spike. This historical event is now celebrated in France every year.

The economic crisis is the 3rd important event because this is when the country fell into much accumulated debt in the late 18th century. The effect that was left from the debt greatly effected everyone in the country. There were large taxes set up in France to recover them from the large debt.

The estates general is also called the states general. The estates-general origins were found in traditions of counsel & aid in the 13th century. During the 15th century the kings levied a permanent tax throughout France.

The rural areas became over populated and there were shortages of food for the people.

This was the least important event because it was a meeting about the three estates of clergy and nobility. They started the storming of the bastille because it was the symbol of the kings power so they decided to attack it.
During the reign of terror Marie Antoinette was the first victim. She was separated from King Louis XVI along with her children who were imprisoned. One of her sons Louis Charles had disappeared strangely. Very strangely were the executions considered educational? The women who were at the executions were encouraged to sit down and knit while they took place. In Paris, July 1794 2,400 people were ordered execution. 30,000 people lost their lives in France.
