Materialism
The assumption that happiness lies in possessions and a high standard of living.
Violence
Competitiveness
The assumption that physical or psychological harm to others is the means to get one`s way.
The assumption that getting ahead and being number one are all important.
These images represent individual who want to win and be on top even if it means stepping on anyone to get there. They will hurt and manipulate to get there. They want to be the best. We all love to win and be one number but it is how we get there that counts.
The pictures that I believe best represent materialism are images of things we want and must have even though it is out of reach. Living in an expensive home and living a certain lifestyle. Sometimes people need to face reality and know that its hard to achieve this life.
These photos both represent violence, people believe it is solution to be heard and being in control. Violence only makes each situation more difficult, innocent people are caught in the middle.
Racism
Sexism
The assumption that some people and groups are better, more human, and more deserving of rights than others, based on accidental characteristics like skin color, sex or age.
The belief that one sex (usually the male) is naturally superior to the other and should dominate most important areas of political, economic, and social life.
This image represents what most individuals believe racism is. People believe that they are superior beings and are above any race, religion or gender. People should not judge anyone because of their race, sex or age. Everyone is created equally.
The image depicts that women should not be equal to men. Women should be seen not heard, be controlled and know their place. Every woman should be giving the same rights as men in all areas.
Quick-Fix Mentality
The assumption that the quickest possible escape from problems or pain is the best solution.

Religion (HRE 401)
The images represent decision making that is never the right choice. Joining the popular group to just to fit in, to avoid loneliness and being noticed. This may be a fast solution but you will be losing a bit of your self respect.
