Larva
What is a larva? A larva is the caterpillar which comes out of the egg. At this stage of metamorphosis, the larva consistently eats greenery and flowers. Then, its skin molts -shreds away- and then goes to the next stage of the process...
The Beginning...
Adulthood
Like most creatures, the butterfly starts off as an egg. The egg is going through the first stage of metamorphosis.
After being in the cocoon, the caterpillar comes out, not as a caterpillar, buts a butterfly!!! This, is the final stage of metamorphosis.
Pupa- the 3rd step
Pupa is when the insect chrysalis. This is when it builds a cocoon around itself and goes through the next process, adulthood.
