Cows are used for leather and the cotton comes from farmers all across the country. The designers create designs for shirts, shoes, shorts, etc, on computers which are then manufactured in factories and then sold in retail stores. The most essential steps in this process include making the proper designs that fit Adidas' target market which includes mostly athletes ages 14-30. Also, the manufacturers must make sure each item made will not wear down and is strong enough for customers.
Adidas was founded in 1924 by two brothers, Adi and Rudolf Dassler. The company used to be called Dassler shoes, but after Rudolf left to make a company called Puma, Adi called the company Adidas. The logo (three stripes) was originally used as support for the shoe. After Adi died in 1978, his wife Kathe ran the company. After she died, the company went to their son Horst, and after he died, the company ran into major financial problems and later was saved by Bernard Tapie. The company is now stronger than ever and is one of the biggest shoe companies in the world.
