- Buckley was sent to rebuild agencies in Beirut
- His kidnappers, the Hezbollahs announced plans to take out the CIA section chief
- He was warned of this prior to his kidnapping but didn't think much of it

- Being drugged while taken hostage by terrorists
- The U.S. was sent videos by his kidnappers on his conditions which was worsening in every video
- He was captured for a total of 19 months and his body was released back to the Unites States to be buried at Arlington National Cemetery

- Buckley was drugged multiple times and injected by his captures
- They were going to do anything to get the bag open
- What the government was worried about was he would suddenly scream in terror
- The CIA consensus was that he would be blindfolded and chained at the ankles and wrists and kept in a room the size of a coffin
- The Motive for the kidnappers to kidnap Buckley
- He had the bag attached to his waist
- It was armed to self destruct if opened incorrectly
- Held 200-300 sensitive names and 400 pages of debriefing

- Terrorists sent a picture of the bag to the United States showing they safely opened it.

- 8 AM March 16, 1984, He was abducted by the terrorists
- He was told to never drive alone but he decided he would anyway
- Minutes from the station a van pulled up behind him and took him hostage.
The Hezbollah's gained loads of info from the CIA, Got to capture and kill a CIA Chief and lastly had a upper hand against the CIA. After this event the CIA upgraded their security and has a closer watch on its agents.
