The Betrayal of Julius Caesar

49 B.C.

After years of feuding, Caesar and Pompey had begun the battle of Pharsalus, a civil war.

53 B.C.

45 B.C.

At this year, Crassus had died while fighting the Battle of Carrhae by the Parthians. At this point, a rivalry was arising with Julius and Pompey.

After defeating Cleopatra in 47 and Pompey in 45 and and others, Julius is announced named dictator for life.

60 B.C.

44 B.C.

On March 15, Julius is assassinated by a group of his own senators who were sent by his political rivals, Marcus Junius Brutus and Gaius Cassius Longinus.

Three years after being elected Pontifex Maximus, Julius is then elected into the counsel where he works with Crassus and Pompey the Great.
