The Evolution of Airplanes
By: Destiny Yanez, Stephanie Cardoso, and Frida Sandoval
The Changes of Airplanes
There were many changes in airplanes throughout the years such as:
- larger capacity
- longer wings
- new and improved design
- able to stay afloat for a longer time
- landing gear for an easier, more efficient landing
- instruments to help guide airplane through flight, to destination and to contact airport

Engineers Involved in
the Process
- Aeronautical - target on the distinct dimensions of flight and are in charge of structure, navigation, propulsion and aero dynamics
- Mechanical - design, build, and test the plane's mechanical devices
- Electrical - make sure all devices and instruments work so that the plane can stay in contact with the airport
- The first airplane was created by Orville and Wilbur Wright
- Their aircraft was able to propell itself for it was gasoline-powered
- It had a steering system based on a rudder that could move resulting in controlled flights
- The glider was the first plane, which was piloted by Orville
- In 1903, the first successful flight in history lasted for 12 seconds and covered 120 feet near Kitty Hawk, North Carolina
- They faced many problems had experimented many times before but failed due to the lack of technology, but this would later be solved as the plane continued to improve and evolve
