Anne Frank's Life

Sisters

This is Anne Franks sister Margot.

Early Life

When Anne Frank was thirteen she got a diary for a gift.

Soon After the Franks moved to the Netherlands.

Anne Frank had many friends and was a bright student.

Hiding

Margot recived a Nazi work camp in Germany.

The next day the Frank family went into hiding.

They hid in a company building which they referred as the Secret Annex.

Hiding Part 2

The Frank's were also staying with one of Otto's work partners Herman van Pels and his family.

They spent two years hiding without steping out of the Sercret Annex.

While they were hiding Anne wrote daily entries in her diary. "I've reached the point where I hardly care weather I live or die." She wrote this on February 3,1944.

Why is Anne Frank Famous?

Anne Frank was a Jewish girl that gone into hiding during World War 2.She is best known for the diary that she kept,which continues to touch people today.

Captured

On August 4,1944 a German secret police accompanied by four Dutch Nazis stormed into the Secret Annex and arrested everyone hiding there.

They were all shipped off to Camp Westerbork,which was a concentration camp in the Northeastern Netherlands.

They Arrived on August 8,1944.

Otto Frank was seperated from his wife and children.So that was the last time he saw his family.

Death

After several months of hard laboring.

During the Winter Anne and Margot were transferred to the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in Germany.

There Mother was unable to go with them because she became ill.

Shortly after January 6,1945 Edith Frank died.

Anne and Margot both got an awful disease called Typhus in the spring and died within a day in early March.Anne Frank was just 15 years old when she died.One million Jewish children died from in the Holocaust.

The Only Survivor

The only survivor of the Frank family was Otto Frank. On July 18,1945,Otto heard from some sisters that his wife and children had died.

He was devastated.

Anne Franks diary was saved by Miep Gries and returned to Otto.Finnaly he gained the strength to read his daughters diary.He was amazed by what he discovered."There was a whole different Anne to the child that I lost."

Still Living

Anne Frank loved her diary so much that on April 5,1944 she wrote "When I write I can shake off all my cares."

That means that when she wrote she would forget about all the bad things happens.

People say that her writing reveals a teenage girl with creativity , wisdom , and power far beyond her years.

Anne Franks Childhood

On September 1,1939 The German Army Invaded Poland which started World War 2.

Then,On May 10,1940 The German Army Invaded the Netherlands.

Later Anne wrote in her diary,"After May,1940 the good times were few and far between."The Germans arrived that's when trouble started for the Jews.

Anne Frank was born on June 12,1945 In Germany.

Her parents names are Otto and Edith Frank.

Her Sister's name is Margot Frank and she is three years older than Anne.

One important thing to know about the Franks is that they are Jewish.
