  • This will hopefully make it a truly engaging and successful project

  • We'll continue to be looking to you and the rest of the Rover population to provide us with feedback on what we're doing
  • We'll also be looking to you to work with us to embed anti-bullying and anti-harassment strategies within our organisation

Supported by:

  • There's no doubt bullying happens in Scouting (Dangar research; NYC Olympia 2009-2011)
  • 18% of surveyed Cub Scouts have been bullied
  • 26% of former Cub Scouts have bullied
  • 7% indicated they left Scouting due to bullying
  • Across Scouts, Venturers and Rovers, 27% of those surveyed indicated that they had been bullied
  • 30.4% of surveyed Rovers indicated they had been bullied
  • Outside of Scouting (Report on Young Australians, 2011)
  • 38% of young people surveyed in 2006 had experienced bullied in the past 12 months
  • Of those, 19% were bullied on a weekly or daily basis
  • We cannot deny that this is an issue, and one that we are particularly well placed to deal with
