Cloning Is Safe

Meet Dolly the Sheep

Animal cloning oughtn't be just permitted, but welcomed.

...so what is cloning?

  • Identical twins
  • Artificial Embryo Twinning
  • Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer (SCNT)
  • You probably already eat cloned/genetically modified food

  • In an official report from the FDA, it was released that "after years of detailed study and analysis, FDA concluded that meat and milk from clones of cattle, swine, and goats, and the offspring of clones from any species traditionally consumed as food, are as safe to eat as food from conventionally bred animals."
  • First mammal to have been successfully cloned from an adult cell (through SCNT)
  • Lived 1997-2003 and bred normal offspring of her own
  • Opened the door to cloning livestock and even domesticated animals
  • Safe to eat cloned animals - end the global food crisis
  • Able pet owners can recreate a cherished animal
  • New discoveries and scientific endeavors

FRANKENSTEIN:

Bringing Species Back To Life

  • Jurassic Park?
  • Woolly Mammoth

Animal cloning is not only safe, but a revolutionary movement in science today - just think of the three F's:

  • Food
  • Fido
  • Frankenstein

"I think it should be done as long as we can provide great care for the animal. If there are reasonable prospects of them being healthy, we should do it. We can learn a lot about them" -Sir Ian Wilmut

(Head of the Roslin Institute team that created Dolly the Sheep)
