One mistake we could have made is that our heart rate could have not fully settled before our next test. This could have affected the accurateness of the control group because it would have washed away the lactic acid buildup. Another mistake we could have made could be that we didn't start exactly with the timer. All of thee times that we did the experiment we had at least a second delay after the timer started.
One variable that could affect the results is that some people may have been more motivated to do better than other people. This would affect the results because if you are more motivated then you are more likely to do better. Another thing that could affect the results of the experiment would be the physical fitness of the person in the experiment. This would help because they would have less of a lactic acid build up than a person that is not in great physical shape. A third way that the experiment could have been affected is that some people could use
We used a clothespin, a pencil to record data, a calculator, a recording paper, and a stopwatch
The data collected in this experiment supports the hypothesis that exercise lets you get more clicks in a minute. This is because our group average all together for no exercise is approximately 140 clicks per minute and our with exercise average is almost 35 more at 173 clicks per minute. One exception is Kelvin because he got a slightly less amount of clicks per minute which makes him an outlier. But since the rest of us exceeded our without exercise scores, the text is conclusive that exercise does make you get more clicks per minute.
The purpose of this experiment was to determine how exercise (dependent variable) affects the amount of times you can open and close a clothespin in a minute (independent variable).
According to our hypothesis, if you were to exercise before clicking the clothespin, then you will get more clicks in a minute than if you weren’t to exercise first.
