Conclusion

Quote #3

At the end of the book it never mentions that he regained his trust for god but why should he? after every thing he has seen and been through.The motif of tradition is very powerful in the book "night". The book starts with Eliezer strongly believing in god but the more time he spends in the concentration camp and the more he sees his belief in him slowly grows weaker.

"Blessed be Gods name. Why, but why would i bless him? Every fiber in me rebelled. Because he caused thousands of children to burn in His mass graves?...Name, for having chosen us to be slaughtered on thine altar?"{pg.67} By this point in the book Eliezer has lost all his belief and his trust in God because he cant understand how and why god could let all this mass murder happen almost unheard of.

"Night" By Elie Wiesel Traditions Motif

Quote #2

The motif of tradition appears multiple times in the book night. Eliezer believes in the Jewish religion where God is the almighty and without God Eliezer feels alone, terribly alone in a world without God,without man...

"Where is merciful God, where is he?"{pg.64} Eliezer heard men alround him saying this when the hanging of the two men and the young boy took place because the boy looked so Innocent... Elizer said that thant night "the soup tasted of corpses..."{pg.65}

Qote #1

"Every one around us was weeping. Someone had begun to recite kiddish for them selves.'yisadal veyiskadash shmey raba... may his name be celebrated and sanctified' my father whispered"{pg.33} during this time Eliezer felt angry because he didn't believe he should sanctify the almighty's name affter everything that he had done to the jewish people.
