Darwins father took him out of the school due to poor grades and having no direction in life
He spent the summer working at his fathers medical practice as an assistant
mid-October his father decided he would carry on the tradition in the family and he was sent to the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. Darwin didnt have an interest in the medical studies and had a fear of the sight of blood

In the spring he attended Ms.Cases's grammmar school in Shrewsbury. He was known to be a rather shy and reserved boy in school and always wanted to be the center of attention at home.
On July 15th his mother, Susannah died when he was eight years old
August the burial of a Dragoon solider occured outside the school at St.Chads parish which left an impression on Darwin.
Febuary-April Darwin met John Edmonstone,a freed black slave from Guyana, South America. John taught him taxidermy.
Summer- Darwin had finished his first year of med school and spent his summer hiking in the Welsh Hills near his home. He read the novel "The natural history of Selborne." He gained more respect for wildlife and started keeping a notebook on bird observations
November 6th- Darwin retured for his second year of medical school. But this year his brother went off to a different university to study anatomy. Darwin spent this year in school at the museum frequently and took notes on the plants and animals.
